Pasta Day

Sunday, October 25, 2009 Pearlyn
Do you guys know that on the 25th of October every year, the world celebrates Pasta Day? Ok not like we Asians celebrate it (If you google often, you should know that there's such thing as rice day!), but I am just gonna toast to my favorite food day today!

It is to give thanks to the outcome of World Pasta Congress held in Rome on 25th October 1995 in favor of the collective promotion of pasta in world level.

Several countries which have the greatest experience in the field of pasta actually came to realize the virtues and merits of pasta. And so! they decided to recognize 25th October every year as World Pasta Day for the purpose of remembrance of the success of first gathering event by the international pasta community. (haha, such funny community)

Apparently, the objective of this pasta day is to attract the attention from the media and all of us, we the consumers to PASTA.

Joshua's favorite pasta Aglio Olio!

And mind the Carbonara! Best if it's cook with bacon! Yum Yum ^^ I super love bacon.

Ok one thing about bacon. I always thought that bacon comes from cow. As what it is always been written on restaurant's menus, beef bacon. But lately only did I know, I was wrong!

It's from PORK! There's no such thing as beef bacon! it's pork bacon! but no one calls it pork bacon because beef bacon sounds nice! wtf

I'm always a fan of white sauce pasta but ever since I went on a strict diet last year, I started to favor red sauce pasta because it has less calories.

Ever since, I'm really really good in cooking different kinds of red sauce pasta!

Ok i'm also good in stir fry pasta! I don't know why. I think I'm inherited by my mom with her "creativity in cooking" gene. Seriously. She just taugt me so well.

Nah. Got potatoes, mushrooms and capsicum somemore.

And here I have the easiest way to cook pasta:

1. Boil the spaghetti until al dente.
2. Fried onions, garlic and sliced sausages.
3. Put in the sauce (and some water) and some seasoning.
4. Eat it with your almighty appetite.

But if let's say you're dumb clueless on how to measure the portion of spaghetti for a single person, you can use this! I found this pasta measurement in Daiso, IOI mall. RM5 only.

Josh told me he ate pasta for almost a week when he's in London. Like seriously. And he sent pictures of his pasta to me.

I was totally surprised.

Because.

It's just simply amazing!

The ham so cute one. Got hole in the middle lol.

If you guys would like to join me celebrate Pasta Day today, you can head over to Lousiana for their 7 types of pasta buffet at Kelana Jaya for RM14.90 only per person. Or Pizza Uno for their scrumptious and cheesy pastas. and Porto Romano for their big portion pastas. :)

Happy Pasta Day everyone!
